GEARING GUIDE

STAMINA SETUPS & GEAR

Different Sets:

Hunding’s Rage – Damage set, best used with Dragonknights, Nightblades and Wardens.

Briarheart – Damage set, commonly used by all classes. Main substitute to Hunding’s Rage as it comes with a jewelry option.

Night Mother’s Gaze – Support set, commonly used by all classes.

Sunderflame – Support set, best used with Dragonknights.

Strength Of Automaton – Damage set, best used with Templars and Sorcerers.

Vicious Serpent – Damage set, commonly used by all classes.

War Machine – Support set, best used with Nightblades and Templars.

Morag Tong – Support set, best used with Dragonknights.

Mechanical Acuity – Damage set, commonly used by all classes.

Stamina classes gear up according to their group and what kind of support they want in to it. In a very optimized group, you will find the players to use all of the mentioned support sets paired with a Damage set. The goal of these sets are to get players achieve penetration cap, meaning the boss has zero resistances and takes full damage from abilities.

Different Gear Setups:

To show an example how gearing works, I list down a couple examples for support…

Sunderflame with Hunding’s Rage (Support + Damage)

Morag Tong with Hunding’s Rage (Support + Damage)

Night Mother’s Gaze with Vicious Serpent (Support + Damage)

War Machine with Strength Of Automaton (Support + Damage)

War Machine with Hunding’s Rage (Support + Damage)

If you have reached the penetration cap, you can go with full damage sets…

Hunding’s Rage with Vicious Serpent (Damage + Damage)

Strength Of Automaton with Vicious Serpent (Damage + Damage)

MAGICKA SETUPS & GEAR

While Stamina setups are designed to give support to your group mates, magicka setups are not. They’re fairly selfish and allow you to focus on full damage.

Different Sets:

Law Of Julianos – Damage set, commonly used by all classes.

Burning Spellweave – Damage set, best used with Nightblades and Dragonknights.

Scathing Mage – Damage set, best used with Nightblades and Wardens.

Necropotence – Damage set, best used with Sorcerers and Wardens.

War Maiden – Damage set, best used with Templars and Nightblades.

Mechanical Acuity – Damage set, commonly used by all classes.

Infallible Aether – Damage set, commonly used by all classes.

Moondancer – Damage set, commonly used by all classes.

Master Architect – Damage set, commonly used by all classes (5 piece only with Templars and Nightblades).

Important to know:

Law Of Julianos is commonly considered as Best In Slot gear for all magicka classes except Magicka Dragonknight and Pet Sorcerers or Wardens.

Scathing Mage is a substitute for Law Of Julianos, it doesn’t offer higher overall damage, but higher burst, that’s why its situational. It has potential to be better than Law Of Julianos, but taking note of it’s proc chances and requirements, it make’s it kind of hard to beat it.

Burning Spellweave can be used by all classes as long as you spec enough for fire damage. It is a good option? Not at the moment as shock damage provides a lot of utility the group needs, as fire is more for damage only. Although in some cases it can be great for Nightblades and Templars as they have some fire damage in their toolkit already. As Dragonknights, they mainly use fire damage, that’s why Burning Spellweave is great for them.

Necropotence is used only if you have a summoned pet with you. So far only Sorcerers and Wardens do.

War Maiden is more like a beginner alternative for trial sets like Infallible Aether or Moondancer as it’s buyable. None of the classes go full Magic damage, that’s why this falls behind Law Of Julianos for example.

Infallible Aether, Moondancer and Master Architect are commonly used as 4 Piece sets only (Jewelry + front bar weapon) and all of them offer equal bonuses except that Infallible Aether’s one piece bonus is Spell Critical instead of Max Magicka.

SUPPORT ROLE SETUPS & GEAR

Healers:

Spell Power Cure – Every Healers main support set. Increases all the team mates Spell Damage by fair amount when they’re getting healed, chance for this proc is high and it’s easy to keep up.

Yes they can, but Necropotence isn’t great for Magicka Nightblades. It will lose to Julianos/Scathing/Burning Spellweave in every scenario. Though Necropotence can be used in some niche builds if wanted.
